An armed man was arrested before noon Friday after he allegedly fired his gun into the air near 14th Street and Chestnut Avenue, where he and a group of individuals were reportedly loitering, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) officials said.

Officers responded to the area at 11:27AM, where they located the crime scene for the shooting, LBPD spokeswoman Nancy Pratt said.

They located the suspect, who had a gun noticeably tucked in his waistband, at Magnolia Avenue and Cowles Street, she said.
