Long Beach police arrested a man suspected of cutting his neighbor with a knife during an argument in Alamitos Beach just after 1 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police were called to the scene near Cerritos Avenue and East Fourth Street at about 1:15 a.m. where they found a man with minor cuts to his upper body, police spokeswoman Jennifer De Prez said.

Officers learned the men are neighbors and were in an argument when one man “used a small knife causing injury” De Prez said.

The suspect, 26-year-old Fidel Rodriguez, stayed at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a dirk or dagger, according to the LBPD. He was being held in jail on a $30,000 bail, police said.
