A man was listed in critical condition Monday night after he was shot in Central Long Beach, police said.
Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) officers arrived to the scene near 20th Street and Atlantic Avenue at about 11:34PM after they received calls regarding shots heard in the area, said LBPD spokeswoman Marlene Arrona.
Officers found a man with an apparent gunshot injury, lying on the ground in the area of 20th Street and Myrtle Avenue.
Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) officials transported the victim to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
No further information is available, and the incident is being investigated as possibly gang related, Arrona said.
