A man was critically injured after being struck by gunfire during a possible gang-related shooting in Long Beach on Saturday morning, according to Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) officials.

Officers responded to the 2400 block of Linden Avenue at 2:22AM on Saturday, July 11, where they located a crime scene but no victim. They later learned the victim was transported to a local hospital by friends, authorities said.

Homicide detectives investigated the scene due to the seriousness of the victim’s injuries, said LBPD spokeswoman Nancy Pratt.

The victim remains in critical condition. The incident is being investigated as possibly gang-related.
