Police are investigating a shooting in Long Beach that left a man injured early Monday morning, authorities said.

Officers were called to the area of 11th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue at 4:51AM on Monday, August 22, regarding a shooting victim, according to Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Marlene Arrona.

The man was found by authorities with a gunshot wound to his lower torso, Arrona added.

Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) personnel transported the victim to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, she said.

The incident remains under investigation.
