A man was injured in a possible gang-related shooting in Central Long Beach Thursday night, according to authorities.
The incident was reported at 11:00PM in the area of 21st Street and Locust Avenue.
The victim was transported to a local hospital by a private citizen where he was treated for a non-life threatening wound to his upper torso, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Arantxa Chavarria said.
Authorities did not provide information on the suspect but said the case is being investigated as possibly gang-related.
The incident comes days after police have beefed up patrol services in the area due to an increase of reported shootings in recent days, including one that left a 22-year-old Long Beach man dead.
