A man is expected to survive after being shot during an argument in a parking lot near Artesia Boulevard and Cherry Avenue in North Long Beach, authorities said.
Police were called to the scene around 1:45 Saturday morning and found a man with gunshot wounds to his lower body, police spokeswoman Jennifer De Prez said. The officers provided aid to the victim until paramedics got there and took him to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
“The preliminary investigation revealed the victim and an adult male suspect engaged in a verbal altercation with one another while standing in a parking lot, which resulted in the shooting,” De Prez said.
The suspect, only described as a man, is still outstanding. It is unclear if the suspects knew each other or what they were arguing about.
