A man was wounded during a drive-by shooting near the Poly neighborhood of Long Beach Sunday morning, authorities said.

The victim was approached by two men in a truck near Long Beach Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway and was subsequently shot by one of them before they fled in the vehicle, according to Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Nancy Pratt.

Officers who responded to the shooting call at about 10:00AM found the victim struck by gunfire in his torso, she said. The man was transported to a local hospital and listed in stable condition.

Authorities are investigating the shooting as possibly gang-related.
