Man shot in vehicle but wouldn’t tell police where
Long Beach police are investigating a shooting early Wednesday morning that left a man wounded, officials said.
Paramedics and police were first called to the 5200 block of Long Beach Boulevard, which is in the Addams neighborhood, shortly before 2:45 a.m. for a shooting victim who had a gunshot wound to his upper body, police spokeswoman Allison Gallagher said.
The victim told police he was shot by an unknown suspect while he was in his vehicle, Gallagher said. It’s unclear if he was driving or parked. He was uncooperative with the investigation and did not give police any information about the suspect or where the shooting happened, she said.
Officers weren’t able to find where the shooting happened, but found evidence of a shooting, including the victim’s vehicle that was hit by gunfire, according to Gallagher.
Paramedics took the victim to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Detectives do not yet know the motive for the shooting.
