Police say a man was shot in the upper and lower body while sitting at a North Long Beach bus stop today.
Shortly before 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a report of a shooting near the intersection of 56th Street and Atlantic Avenue, according to Long Beach police.
Investigators determined a man was sitting at a bus stop when another man walked up to him, shot him, and then ran off before officers arrived, police said.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to his upper and lower body, police said.
A motive for the shooting remains under investigation and no suspect description was immediately available.
