A man was hospitalized Tuesday morning after being stabbed during an argument that turned into a robbery in Long Beach’s Washington neighborhood, authorities said.

Police say the stabbing occurred around 3:14 a.m. in the 400 block of West Cowles Street when a man and a woman were arguing with the suspect. When the altercation escalated, the suspect stabbed the man multiple times in the upper body and took his property, according to the Long Beach Police Department. No other injuries were reported.

The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived, according to the LBPD. Paramedics transported the stabbing victim, who was suffering from non-life-threatening injuries, to a local hospital.

No arrest has been made, and the investigation is ongoing. No further details were available.
