A man suffered non-life threatening injuries after he was stabbed Monday evening at the Fifth Street Metro Blue Line Station in Downtown Long Beach by an unknown suspect, authorities said.

The suspect and victim had been riding the Blue Line in Long Beach when they got into an altercation at the Fifth Street Station at about 8:40PM, said Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department (LASD) spokesperson Leo Bauer.

The altercation led to the suspect stabbing the victim in his shoulder.

The victim was transported to St. Mary Medical Center with a non-life threatening stab wound to the shoulder, Bauer said.

Following the stabbing, the suspect fled from the scene and has not been identified.
