A man is expected to survive injuries he sustained during a shooting in Long Beach early Thursday morning, just a few blocks from St. Mary Medical Center, authorities said.

Officers were called to assist the Long Beach Fire Department with “an injured subject” near East 10th Street and Lime Avenue at 4:36AM on Thursday, March 17, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Marlene Arrona said.

Police found a man with what appeared to be a non-life threatening gunshot injury. He was then transported to a local hospital by paramedics.

The investigation remains ongoing.
