Long Beach police are investigating two overnight shootings, but few details about either incident were immediately available.

In one incident, a 27-year-old man showed up at a local hospital at about 4:10 a.m., but he wouldn’t tell police what happened, officials said. The man got treatment for his wounds, which weren’t life-threatening, police spokesman Brandon Fahey said. It’s not clear where or how the man was shot.

A few hours earlier, someone had reported hearing gunshots in the area of East Artesia Boulevard and Long Beach Boulevard at about 11:35 p.m., Fahey said.

Officers found a parked, unoccupied vehicle that had been hit by gunfire and found bullet casings in the area. Police believe someone fired shots and fled the area before they got there, Fahey said.

It’s unclear if anyone was hurt. No one reported injuries from the shooting and police do not know the motive.

Police asked that anyone with information about either incident to contact investigators at 562-570-7370. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling 1-800-222-8477 or visiting www.lacrimestoppers.org.
