Long Beach police are investigating a shooting that left a man wounded on Rose Avenue near 14th Street Thursday night, officials said.

Police went to the scene at about 9:15 p.m., where they found a man in the street with a gunshot wound to his upper body, spokesman Ivan Garcia said. Paramedics took him to a local hospital, where he is in stable condition.

Police do not yet have a suspect description or a reason for the shooting.

This is the second shooting on that block in three days, but police do not yet know if they are connected. A man was found shot in a courtyard of an apartment complex at about 7:40 p.m. Monday night. He later died at a local hospital, police said.
