A suspected hit-and-run motorist who led sheriff’s deputies on a chase crashed into a wall and a parked pickup truck in Long Beach just south of Hawaiian Gardens on Thursday at around 1:10AM, and was arrested on suspicion of DUI, authorities said.

The accident occurred near East Ring Street and Pioneer Boulevard, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Alicia Malone. 

The suspect was pursued by sheriff’s deputies after leaving the scene of a single-vehicle accident on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway just north of Carson St. in Lakewood, according to Malone. The suspect was checked out at a hospital but was not injured.
