Long Beach police say a man was walking down a sidewalk in Cambodia Town last night when a gunman attacked him and stole his wallet.
Police said the robbery happened around 1:26 a.m. Saturday on Gardenia Avenue just south of Anaheim Street where the gunman approached the victim.
After the gunman demanded the victim’s wallet, he “swung a gun at the victim, hitting him twice in the upper body and the victim gave the suspect his wallet,” police said. “The suspect fired the gun once into the air and fled the scene before officers arrived.”
Medics treated the victim at the scene, and police are working to gather a suspect description, according to the LBPD.
