Two men stabbed and wounded a man they were trying to rob Tuesday night in Long Beach, police said today.

The attack happened around 9:30 p.m. when the victim was walking near Pacific Coast Highway and Atlantic Avenue, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

That’s where two men approached him and tried to rob him, according to the LBPD.

“During the altercation, the victim was stabbed,” they said.

The victim headed to the hospital himself to get treatment for the wound, according to police, who said the suspects fled before officers got to the scene.

An investigation is ongoing and no suspect information was immediately available.
