A dispute between neighbors caused a middle school in Long Beach to go on lockdown Tuesday afternoon, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Megan Zabel said.

At 12:20PM, police officers responded to a person with a gun call in the 1400 block of Cedar Avenue, causing Washington Middle School to be placed on lockdown for about 20 minutes as a precaution during the investigation, officials said.

Officers determined the incident—which was off campus—to be a dispute between neighbors, resulting in vandalism.

No person with a gun was ever located.
