The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Long Beach Fire Department announced a reward of up to $10,000 for information related to the arrest of those responsible for the fire that destroyed Men’s Suit Outlet, Legacy Salon and the Urban School of Self Defense.

ATF said the fire was started around 10 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, the evening of the George Floyd demonstrations, at the Men’s Suit Outlet at 655 Pine Avenue.

“The fire was started after two unidentified suspects tossed two Molotov cocktails through the broken windows of the store,” ATF said. “The security bars and windows of the store were broken earlier by looters.”

The day after the fire, a spokesman for the Long Beach Fire Department said the fire was set maliciously. Video of two people throwing Molotov cocktails into the business has been circulating on social media for weeks and ATF has a clip available here.

Anyone with information is asked to call the LBFD Arson Hotline at 562-570-2582.
