A person was killed today in a three-vehicle crash that sent one car careening into a historic Long Beach cemetery.

The crash occurred around 4:30 a.m. Saturday at Orange Avenue and Willow Street, according to Signal Hill police Sgt. J. Poor.

A black car wound up in the Long Beach Municipal Cemetery, established around the year 1900.

A person inside the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department sent a truck and ambulance to the scene, firefighter Keith Navarre told City News Service. The truck remained “for body recovery,” and the ambulance did not transport anyone.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
