Rescuers had to use the Jaws of Life to free two of the victims from the wreckage, Long Beach Fire Department spokesman Brian Fisk said.
The 21-year-old’s name was withheld pending notification of his family.
Police said Tuesday that the two women were in a crosswalk when the 70-year-old was struck by a car driven by a woman, who stopped at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Authorities said the vehicles collided at Termino Avenue and 7th Street at about 10:30 a.m., leaving one vehicle overturned.

A California Highway Patrol sergeant who collided with a raised concrete median on the 405 Freeway was is in stable condition after being taken to the hospital.
The building was evacuated and the woman was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
