Long Beach police arrested a man and a woman at a Los Angeles hotel for allegedly of getting into a fight and fatally shooting a man in Central Long Beach on Pacific Coast Highway early Tuesday morning.
Police arrested 29-year-old Jeramy Odell and 34-year-old Shalisha White in connection to the shooting after detectives were led to a hotel in the 4500 block of Slauson Avenue in LA, according to police.
“Based on their investigation, detectives believe a dispute ensued between the victim and Odell, which escalated into a shooting,” police said. They believe White was an “active participant” in the shooting and helped Odell flee after the shooting.
Odell was arrested on suspicion of murder and White was arrested on suspicion of murder and accessory after the fact. They are both being held on a $2 million bail.
The coroner’s office has only identified the victim as a black man in his 40’s, pending notification of his family.
Detectives will present their case to the LA County District Attorney’s office this week for filing consideration.
