After conducting an investigation for a year and a half, Long Beach police arrested a Corona man suspected of embezzling more than $425,000 from the auto dealership he worked at on Bellflower Boulevard.

During their investigation, police found that the suspect, David Bruce Higgins, 50, falsified invoices between 2015 and 2017 to embezzle the money from the Worthington Ford auto dealership, police said.

Investigators presented the case to the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office, and after an arrest warrant was issued, arrested Higgins on suspicion of grand theft with a pending white collar crime enhancement. He is being held on a $70,000 bail at Long Beach City Jail.

Police ask that anyone with information about this case to call the Financial Crimes Detail at 562-570-7330.
