Long Beach police today arrested three burglary suspects at a house tented for fumigation.

Officers were sent to the 100 block of East 35th Street about 2:30AM, after the homeowners called to say “they observed, through their security camera, suspects inside their residence,” said Long Beach police spokeswoman Arantxa Chavarria.

A “male juvenile” emerged from the tented residence a short time later and was the first to be taken into custody, Chavarria said.

Officers surrounded the building and summoned a SWAT, which entered the home around 9:50 a.m. to conduct a search of the property, she said.

The other two suspects were then arrested, aided by a police dog, Chavarria said.

All three suspects were taken to a hospital to be examined for possible exposure to chemicals used in the fumigation process. Their names were not released.
