Authorities arrested the driver of an allegedly stolen white SUV this afternoon following a police pursuit that started in Los Angeles and ended in Long Beach.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the pursuit began around 3:33 p.m. at Pacific Coast Highway and Figueroa Street, which is in Wilmington, after police determined the driver of the white SUV was operating a vehicle that had been reported stolen.

The driver led police on a pursuit toward North Bellflower Boulevard in Long Beach before pulling over and running away, police said.

According to the LAPD, they arrested the driver on 23rd Street, a little north of the Traffic Circle. Police could not confirm what time the driver was arrested.

Images from the live police chase showed children in backpacks walking by as officers peered into the white SUV after the arrest.

This story was updated to reflect the correct type of car that was stolen.
