Police are investigating after a wounded man showed up at a 24-hour laundromat in the Wrigley area last night.

The man arrived at the business on Pacific Avenue near 19th Street around 1:03 a.m. Wednesday. Bystanders there called 911, according to police, and paramedics quickly arrived and began treating a gunshot wound to his upper body.

Officers learned the man, 56, had been riding a bike nearby when he was shot. He then rode to the laundromat.

Little else is known, including exactly where the shooting happened. “The victim was uncooperative with the investigation,” police said.

Police are trying to gather suspect information and determine a motive.

The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
