A fight in North Long Beach escalated into a shooting last night, according to authorities.
Police said they were called to the scene at about 12:03 a.m. Tuesday. They said a man had been in a “physical altercation with several male adult subjects” on 56th Way, just west of Paramount Boulevard.
The man was shot during the fight, and the suspected shooter or shooters fled, police said. Paramedics took the man to the hospital.
Police said they’re still trying to gather suspect information and determine a motive for the shooting.
