UPDATE | A man’s body found at the shoreline in Long Beach Monday morning was ruled a suicide by the coroner’s office.
Michael McCreadie, 43, of Norwalk, was found dead on the beach at the shoreline near the 5400 block of East Ocean Boulevard at 5:50AM on Monday, December 5, a coroner official said. He died from a gunshot wound to the head.
Authorities have not yet identified a 49-year-old homeless woman who died of apparent natural causes in a parked car in the same general area as McCreadie.

12/6/16 at 11:29AM | Authorities have identified a man found dead Monday morning from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in Long Beach.
The coroner’s office identified him as 43-year-old Michael McCreadie but did not immediately have a place of residence listed for him.
McCreadie was found on the beach at the shoreline near the 5400 block of East Ocean Boulevard near the so-called “Horny Corner” at 5:50AM on Monday.
Authorities said there was no apparent connection between his death and that of an unidentified 49-year-old woman who died of natural causes in a parked car in the same general area as McCreadie.

12/5/16 at 2:58PM | The deaths of a man and woman, whose bodies were found near each other in Belmont Shore Monday morning, do not appear to be related, according to authorities.
“There is nothing connecting the two cases together right now,” Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Nancy Pratt said.
The man’s naked body was found on the sand near the shoreline early this morning near the 5400 block of East Ocean Boulevard. Pratt said the man, who officials believe was 43, died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Long Beach Search & Rescue were still at the scene Monday afternoon in search of a weapon amid murky waters and the tide coming in and out, she said. The LBPD Port Police Dive Team also responded and conducted a grid search of the nearby water, however, no firearm was located by either team, officials stated.
The woman, who was 49, died from what appeared to be natural causes, Pratt said. Her body was found by authorities inside a blue Ford Explorer parked at the south curb of Ocean Boulevard, officials stated. Authorities noted there were no visible signs of trauma on her body but she was in “an extreme state of poor health” which led detectives to believe she may have been homeless and living out of her vehicle, officials stated.
The victims will be identified once next of kin has been notified.
The incidents remain under investigation.

12/5/16 at 10:56AM | Long Beach homicide detectives are investigating two deaths after police found a man’s naked body with a gunshot wound on the beach near Belmont Shore early this morning and a woman’s body in a parked SUV nearby, authorities said.
Officers responding to the 5400 block of East Ocean Boulevard at 5:50AM regarding a body on the beach found a dead man with an apparent gunshot wound to his upper body, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Marlene Arrona said.
During the investigation, police discovered a second body inside a parked SUV nearby, she said. The body was of a female.
No further details have been released. It is unknown if the two deaths are related at this time.
