Long Beach police rushed to the Carmelitos neighborhood Saturday at 2:05 p.m. after getting reports of shots fired in the 900 block of East Via Wanda.

No one reported injuries, but officers found a man who matched the description of the shooter and detained him, police spokeswoman Jennifer De Prez said. Officers then determined he was the gunman and arrested him.

“During their preliminary investigation officers located (bullet) casings in the area and one unoccupied vehicle that had evidence consistent with bullet impact,” De Prez said.

Police are still investigating.
