Long Beach police are trying to find out if anyone was hit by gunfire after they found blood at the scene of a shooting in South Wrigley Friday afternoon, officials said.

Police arrived on the scene of a shots call in the 1900 block of Henderson Avenue at about 12:45 p.m., but any suspects or victims were gone before they got there, police spokeswoman Arantxa Chavarria said.

Police found evidence of a shooting, as well as blood at the scene. Police are not yet sure the blood came from the shooting incident but are looking for possible victims, Chavarria said.

Gang detectives are investigating and interviewing witnesses, she said.
