A Poly High School student was arrested at the campus yesterday after a girl told police he’d twice sexually assaulted her, according to authorities.

The girl told a school resource officer that both attacks happened off-campus during 2018, police said. One was in Signal Hill, and the other was about a mile from Poly near Anaheim Street and Walnut Avenue, Long Beach Police Department spokesman Shaunna Dandoy said.

Officers arrested the student around 1:30 p.m., about an hour and a half after speaking with the girl, according to police.

The girl was 17 at the time of the assaults, Dandoy said. Police didn’t say how old the suspected attacker was then, but he is 18 now, according to a jail booking log, which identified him as Daniel Aispuro.

A school district spokesman confirmed Aispuro was a student at Poly.

He was being held on $100,000 bail, and detectives expected to present a case against him to the district attorney’s office some time today, Dandoy said.

A phone number listed for Aispuro’s home address was disconnected.
