A 28-year-old man was arrested this week after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of more than 80 pounds of cocaine and other drugs in his North Long Beach home.

Hildefonso Angulo was originally pulled over Monday in the 6900 block of Atlantic Ave. for a traffic-related violation. He was found to be driving without a license and his vehicle was impounded. Police say that while conducting an inventory search of the vehicle, officers located packaging material consistent with packaging large quantities of narcotics for sale and obtained a search warrant for Angulo’s home in the 1100 block of E. 72nd Street.

Officers and Drug Investigations Section detectives found approximately 36 kilos of cocains and over three pounds of methamphetamine in the house along with one handgun, over $3000 cash and a stolen vehicle.

Angulo was arrested and booked for possession and sale of narcotics and is being held on $1,000,000 bail.
