Police are looking for two men who shot at a pair of skateboarders in the Willmore area of Long Beach Saturday night.

The shooting happened around 8:15 p.m. on Loma Vista Drive near 11th Street, Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman Arantxa Chavarria said.

One of the skateboarders had already left when police got there, but the other one told officers he and his friend were skateboarding together when two men with guns confronted them, according to Chavarria.

“The suspects fired shots at the victims and fled the scene in a vehicle only described as a sedan,” Chavarria said.

The gunfire apparently missed its intended target. Officers found a parked car hit by the rounds and shell casings at the corner of 11th and Loma Vista, according to police.

There weren’t any reports of injuries, Chavarria said.

Detectives are still investigating.
