Police are trying to find whoever stabbed a man on a sidewalk near Downtown Long Beach Wednesday night.

Police said they learned of the attack around 9:10 p.m. when they were called to a local hospital.

A man was being treated there after being stabbed in the upper body near Daisy Avenue and Fifth Street, Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman Shaunna Dandoy said.

Police were able to find the scene of the attack, but they haven’t been able to determine a motive or find the attacker, Dandoy said.

Detectives are still investigating.
