An ATM outside of Riley’s Pub and Grill in Belmont Shore was found broken into Wednesday morning and the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) is conducting an ongoing investigation.

The LBPD arrived at the entrance of Riley’s Pub and Grill on Second Street at 5:00AM Wednesday morning to find a damaged ATM and currency missing.

The amount of money stolen is unknown, according to the LBPD. The ATM was independently owned and ownership information was initially unavailable.

Officers are in the process of reviewing video evidence from neighboring businesses.

The Belmont Shore Business Organization circulated photographs earlier today of two individuals near the ATM late Tuesday night. The LBPD cautioned against using the photos as proof or accusing the individuals pictured of any wrongdoing at this point in time.

“In regards to the images, they appear to be still photos taken from surveillance video footage at the business,” the LBPD said in a statement Monday evening. “Until our detectives have an opportunity to fully investigate, which includes gathering and viewing all potential video footage, we cannot verify what role these individuals played in the crime, if any.”

Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact the LBPD Burglary Detail at (562) 570-7351. Anonymous tips may be submitted by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), texting TIPLA plus your tip to CRIMES (274637), or visiting www.lacrimestoppers.org
