Authorities in Long Beach are investigating a trio of weekend shootings that left two men injured, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

Officers responded to a shots heard call on Saturday, December 19, at 1:40PM on the 2800 block of Chestnut Avenue and subsequently found evidence of a shooting near 27th Street and Eucalyptus Avenue, according to LBPD spokeswoman Marlene Arrona.

Police did not find anyone with injuries, she said.

On Sunday, December 20, officers were dispatched to a local hospital at 1:52PM to investigate a suspected assault with a deadly weapon. They located a man with a non-life threatening gunshot injury.

The man said he was near Santa Fe Avenue and 21st Street when the shooting occurred, according to Arrona, however officers were unable to locate a crime scene.

On Monday, December 21, officers were once again dispatched to a local hospital regarding a report of an assault with a deadly weapon.

Officers were called at 12:15AM and subsequently came into contact with a man suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot injury, Arrona said.

The victim said he was near South Street and Atlantic Avenue when the shooting occurred, but again officers were unable to locate a crime scene, she said.

All three incidents are currently being investigated by the LBPD.
