A man riding a motorcycle was killed Saturday due to injuries sustained in a collision with a Chevrolet Tahoe, according to Long Beach police officials.
The Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) stated that the man killed, a 25-year-old Long Beach resident, traveled southbound on Palo Verde Avenue at a high rate of speed, drifted into the northbound lanes, and hit the Chevrolet Tahoe head-on.
A release issued Saturday stated that officers were dispatched at 4:22PM Saturday to Palo Verde Avenue and Don Julio Street in regards to a traffic collision resulting in injuries.
Upon their arrival, they found a 2013 Suzuki GSX-R motorcycle had collided with a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe, severely injuring the motorcyclist, a 25-year-old male resident of Long Beach.
The motorcyclist was driving with a suspended license and without proof of insurance, according to the LBPD. His impairment has yet to be determined, and the LBPD state his identity will be released following notification of next of kin.
The Tahoe’s driver and passenger, a 73-year-old female resident of Long Beach and a 53-year-old female resident of Long Beach, remained at the scene and were released shortly following the incident. They had a valid I.D. and proof of insurance and were not impaired, according to the LBPD.
