Two burglary suspects were arrested in North Long Beach on Sunday by the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) and the LA County Sheriff’s Air Unit, according to the LBPD.

Jeremiah Chavers, 31, of Westminster and Nquezeni Moyo, 24, of Garden Grove were booked at Long Beach Jail for commercial burglary, vandalism and possession of burglary tools and are being held on $20,000 bail.

Sgt. Bradley Johnson of the LBPD said officers were dispatched to a business on the 6700 block of Cherry Avenue regarding a burglary in progress, around 3:30AM. Upon arrival, officers were advised by the security guards who were monitoring the cameras inside the store that two suspects were inside.

The officers quickly set up a perimeter around the store, according to Johnson. One of the suspects ran out of the store and was taken into custody by an arrest team, without incident. The other suspect remained in the story and a K-9 was requested, along with SWAT.

Officers also requested the assistance of the LA County Sheriff’s Department for an Air Unit, and the department responded with out, spotting a second suspect on the roof, attempting to hide. They directed the LBPD to the suspect’s location, and he was taken into custody without incident.

Both suspects were booked on charges of commercial burglary, vandalism and possession of burglary tools.
