Two Long Beach businesses were cited Saturday in an undercover tobacco decoy operation conducted by the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

In the operation, minors, supervised by LBPD juvenile investigations detectives, along with the health department, attempted to buy tobacco products from Long Beach businesses, according to a statement on the LBPD’s Facebook.

Of the 24 businesses checked, two of them sold tobacco products to the minor and were issued misdemeanor citations.

The cited businesses were identified as Ray & Roys Market, located at 2093 Pacific Avenue, and Apex Services, located at 2336 Pacific Avenue.

“Long Beach businesses that sell tobacco products are reminded to check for identification prior to making any tobacco related sales,” the LBPD said in a statement.
