Two Wrigley Heights home were burglarized yesterday, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) officials said today.
Police officers responded to the first burglary at about 3:12PM in the 3100 block of Elm Avenue and learned that the resident returned home to find the rear security screen door open, said LBPD spokeswoman Marlene Arrona. Police determined the door appeared to have been forced open, but it didn’t appear that anyone had entered the home and losses were not reported.
Police responded to a second burglary in the 500 block of E. 31st Street at about 5:25PM. Officers learned that upon returning home, the resident discovered that the residence had been burglarized and electronics and jewelry had been stolen. While investigating, officers determined at least one suspect entered the residence through a bedroom window.
“Although the incidents occurred close in time and proximity, we cannot say they are related, but it is possible,” Arrona said. “Both investigations remain ongoing.”
Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to call LBPD burglary detective Lorri Peck at 562-570-7351.
