Two separate shootings that occurred in Long Beach over the weekend left two men injured but alive, in stable condition, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

Friday, November 18

The first shooting occurred around 7:00PM on Friday, November 18 near the MacArthur Park neighborhood of Long Beach, on the 1300 block of Dawson Avenue.

LBPD spokeswoman Marlene Arrona said officers were dispatched on calls of a hit shooting at that time and, upon arrival, found a man with a gunshot wound. The man was transported to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.

It’s unknown if the incident was gang-related; the investigation is ongoing.

Saturday, November 19

Later, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Pacific Avenue near downtown Long Beach regarding a second hit shooting at around 3:15PM.

Upon arrival, officers located a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower torso.

The victim, who did not share information regarding his involvement in the shooting, was transported to a local hospital.

The shooting was determined to not be gang-related, according to Arrona.

The investigation is ongoing.
