Two men were arrested following an alleged armed robbery in the area of Livingston Drive and Roswell avenue in Belmont Shore, the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) announced Tuesday.

According to LBPD Sgt. Bradley Johnson, officers were dispatched to Belmont Shore regarding an armed robbery of a person at 9:40PM Monday.

When officers arrived, they learned that a suspect armed with a handgun approached the victim with two other suspects and demanded personal property while pointing the gun at them.

After releasing a description of the suspects, an assisting officer discovered two of the three suspects in the area and detained them, Johnson said. Both suspects had the victim’s property in their possession and one had a replica handgun in his possession, according to Johnson.

The suspects were positively identified as Gerardo Nieves, 20 and Kewone Carwell, 20, both of Long Beach.

The suspects were booked for Robbery at the Long Beach Jail, with a bail of $50,000 each.

According to Johnson, the victim was not injured and the investigation is ongoing.
