UPDATE | Thursday’s fatal collision on the 710 in Long Beach involved the death of a 24-year-old female Long Beach resident, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The CHP reported the victim was driving a 2008 Honda when she veered onto the right shoulder of the road and hit the left rear of a 2013 tractor-trailer combo. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman’s name is being withheld pending notification of her family.

PREVIOUSLY: Two Vehicles Collide on 710 Freeway in Long Beach, Leaving One Dead

10/01/15 at 2:45PM | Two vehicles collided early Thursday morning, leaving one dead on the Long Beach stretch of the 710 Freeway, the California Highway Patrol reported.

According to their report, the collision culminated in one vehicle being wedged under another big rig on the northbound 710 near West Del Amo Boulevard at 2:33AM.

No immediate reports of additional injuries were submitted, and no other information regarding the death was available at this time.
