Police are investigating two attacks in the same area last night on Anaheim Street near Pacific Avenue.

Investigators have not yet determined if the attacks are related, police spokeswoman Arantxa Chavarria said.

Police and paramedics responded to the first victim, a man, at about 8:45 Tuesday night. He had multiple lacerations on his lower torso and he told police the attack actually happened on the Los Angeles River bike path east of the 710 freeway.

“The victim stated he was assaulted with a knife on the bike path east of the location approximately 30 minutes prior,” Chavarria said.

Officers were dispatched to the same block for a second victim at 10:15 p.m. The victim, another man, had a laceration to his upper torso. He told police he was assaulted at his encampment in the area.

Both victims were transported to a local hospital and are expected to recover. Police do not have a suspect descriptions for either incidents, but are still investigating.
