Police say a woman was stabbed this morning in Downtown Long Beach.

The crime was reported around 7:05 a.m. near the intersection of Fourth Street and Magnolia Avenue, according to Long Beach police.

When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from stab wounds to her upper and lower body.

She was taken to a hospital for treatment of the wounds, which were not believed to be life-threatening, police said.

The circumstances leading up to the stabbing, including a potential motive, were under investigation.

No suspect description was immediately available.
