A woman was shot Tuesday night while she sat in her parked vehicle near the Traffic Circle, according to Long Beach police. The woman told police the two men involved in the attack also took her wallet before escaping on foot, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The shooting happened in the 4500 block of East Pacific Coast Highway around 10:25 p.m., according to LBPD spokesman Brandon Fahey. Officers responded to calls about a robbery there, and when they arrived, they determined the woman had also been shot, Fahey said.

The woman, who was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said she was sitting in her car when two men approached, robbed her at gunpoint and shot her in the upper body, police said.

The area where officers responded includes a number of office buildings and an L.A. Fitness gym on one side of PCH, and a Rite Aid on the other side of the street. It’s unclear where the woman was parked. Police said that the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

[Editors note: The story has been updated to show that it’s unclear which parking lot the woman was shot in.]
