City health inspectors shut down Xela Ju Bakery, located at 2057 Pacific Avenue, on Friday, November 18, after noticing live and dead roaches, a dead mouse and a lack of hot water, according to health officials.

Specifically, a health inspector observed that the warmest water available was at 76 degrees Fahrenheit—significantly lower than the required 110 degrees Fahrenheit.

The inspector also noticed 20 to 25 live roaches on the floor, walls and shelves, as well as 15 to 20 dead roaches on the floor and shelves throughout the facility. To top it off, they also found one dead mouse “on a sticky trap behind a large oven,” according to the inspection report.

The bakery reopened five days later after fixing the issues.
