The death of a 34-year-old woman who was hit by a Long Beach Transit bus last week was ruled a suicide, police said today.
The woman was struck shortly before 7 p.m. Nov. 26 on Shoreline Drive near Seventh Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department reported.
Police said the bus was traveling north on Shoreline when it struck the woman, who was walking in the roadway outside of a crosswalk. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Tuesday the county medical examiner had ruled the death to be a suicide.
