3:31 pm | Arlene Mercer, the founder and executive director of Long Beach-based nonprofit Food Finders Inc., is retiring.
The organization’s board of directors made the announcement Friday, stating that Mercer is discontinuing her day-to-day duties with the organization and is now considered Food Finders’ executive director emeritus.
Ed Fagan, chair of the board, said the board will now appoint an interim executive director before launching a search for someone to fill the position permanently
The board wishes to publicly thank Mercer for her service to Food Finders, Fagan said, adding that the board looks forward to continuing the organization and appreciates the community’s support during this time of transition.
